Peter - I’d love you to unpack that for me, and how it flows from Mark 8:33. I’m not sure I quite follow the logic of it.
I’ve only ever really concluded from Mark 8:33 that Peter did not understand God’s plan for the cross and suffering. How do you go from that to your conclusion above?
Couldn’t agree more! The HSC is blown way out of proportion. People focus way to much on it, to the detriment of many other important things. How much better would it be to focus entirely on the Glory found in Christ!
Although, as I think you imply, an education with a focused and relational understanding of Christ is a mighty thing to behold! I hope our Christian brothers and sisters struggling with the ‘strange beast’ called the HSC at the moment don’t lose this sight. May they find the time amongst their study to dwell on the love of Christ.
