interesting that you have included a link to your next post - which doesn’t exist yet!

I think what concerns me most about this section (and the entire book) is the shear pragmatism of it.

It’s not that I disagree with much of the stuff he says.  For example - I totally agree that we need to focus on conversion growth.

However - the reasons given are because transfer growth people make problems (p45),  people you convert are more likely to run with you (p46), and are more likely to be “like-minded” (p46).

All the reasoning is based on how to get a bigger church.  What is driving this is not what the bible says, or what church is, or what theologically you should do at church - but on how to get more bums on seats.

Similar comments can be made for “ministering to people where they are at”.

@Mike: Small correction: Sandy’s next post exists (in fact, all of Sandy’s posts exists); it’s just that you can’t see them yet. Putting the link in now just saves time; it will work when the post goes live.

let’s call it an issue of perspective, perhaps even post-modernity and relativism.  For us, the reader, it does not yet exist.  The link does not work.

mmm…conveniently, the next part of the article has just appeared, making my point moot.
