You will sometimes hear people say that Christianity is the white man’s faith. Nonsense, but they say it. And this shows it for the bunkham that it is. Not only does the Anglican church reflect the ‘all nations’ flavour of heaven, but the Africans are leading the way.
This will really test the character of Western Christians, in particular the liberals. We profess to hate colonial imperialsim etc, but will we humble ourselves enough to be led back to truth by the Africans?
But… isn’t the point not that your access to Jesus can be through encountering him today in the holy sites of Jerusalem, but that your present access to Jesus is dependent on the historical reality of his having been in these real tangible places? I am very glad to find that Jerusalem is actually really a real place in the real world, and you know, I think I might be slightly moved by discovering it. Would that be wrong?
Nothing wrong with being moved by seeing where Jesus walked, Michael. It didn’t particularly move me, but who can command emotions?
And if that’s all that was being pushed here, I wouldn’t even bother commenting. I hope my post indicated that I was writing against more than that.
